Terms of Use
Last updated: 13 July 2026
Woodpile is a free, community tool for finding and sharing firewood. By using
it, you agree to these terms. We've kept them short and readable.
The deal
- Woodpile is a noticeboard, not a supplier. We show where
people say wood is; we don't own it, move it, or vouch for it.
- You're responsible for your own safety, your gear, and for confirming you're
actually allowed to take a given pile. See our
Safety & rules page — please read it.
Posting piles
- Only post wood that is genuinely free to take, and only mark a private pile
as available if the owner is OK with it.
- Don't post piles on land you don't have permission to share, and don't post
others' private information.
- You keep ownership of photos you upload, but you grant Woodpile a licence to
display them in the app and on share pages.
Being a good neighbour
- No spam, harassment, illegal dumping, or anything that puts people at risk.
- Every pile and photo has a Report button. We review reports
and may hide or remove content and accounts that break these terms.
No warranty
Woodpile is provided "as is". We don't guarantee a pile is still there, is safe
to collect, or is legal for you to take at your location. To the fullest extent
permitted by law (including the Australian Consumer Law where it applies), we're
not liable for loss or injury arising from using the app or collecting wood you
found through it.
Changes
We may update these terms; we'll change the date above. Continuing to use
Woodpile means you accept the current version.
